Q. What is the Pentaho Reporting Evaluation?

A. Pentaho Reporting Evaluation is a specialized package of a subset of the Pentaho Reporting capabilities, designed for typical first-phase evaluation activities such as accessing sample data, creating and editing reports, and viewing and interacting with reports. It includes Pentaho platform components, the Pentaho Report Designer and an ad hoc reporting interface bundled into a single download intended for local installation. Sample OLAP reports and dashboard examples are also included for those interested, but the package includes the design tools and publishing capabilities for Pentaho Reporting only.

Q. What Platforms are supported?

A. While Pentaho Reporting supports Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms, the installable evaluation package currently supports Windows and Linux only.

A. This package is intended for rapid evaluation. It is not intended for production deployment.
